Australia’s export fodder companies contribute to an export fodder levy ($0.50/tonne) on the following export fodder products – hay (including oaten hay, lucerne hay and wheaten hay) and straw (including cereal straw) to the Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF). The export fodder levies collected by DAFF are subsequently distributed to Agrifutures Australia.
Agrifutures Australia is responsible for identifying and delivering the research, development and extension priorities and outcomes for the export fodder industry.
